What: A ZipsGuide 'Made in the 330 Monday' Holiday Market where the campus and the community are invited to come purchase holiday gifts for everyone on their list from more than 40 small, local vendors. The market has plenty of activities, door prizes and holiday cheer, and is free and open to the public.

When: Monday, Dec.  2 from 2 to 7 p.m. Mr. Jeff's Holiday Dance party for children and families is from 5 to 7 p.m. Zippy-Claus will make an appearance at 5:30 p.m. See a complete itinerary below.

Where: The Jean Hower Taber Student Union @ UA

Parking: Worried about parking? Don't be! You can pre-purchase parking at www.uakronpark.com. Give your license plate during purchase and park just like a student passholder in any commuter lot. We recommend parking in lot 37 (you can put that right into your GPS), but you can park in most lots near to Buchtel common and enjoy an easy walk to the Student Union. Handicap accessible spots and a ramp are available in Lot 18, to the left of Lot 37, right outside the student union doors.

How: Bring a donation for the campus cupboard (toiletries, menstrual products, non-perishables) and earn extra tickets for the door prize raffle.

Who: 43 small, local vendors from Akron and surrounding communities, Northside Marketplace, sponsors Mr. Jeff and Downtown Akron Partnership, and... you!

Why: Shop small and support your neighbors in the Akron Community (rather than those big box stores). Find unique, one-of-a-kind, meaningful gifts.

Monday, Dec 2 from 2 to 7 p.m. in the Jean Hower Taber Student Union.

Announcing 'A ZipsGuide shop small & local Holiday Market,' a holiday shop, featuring vendors from around the 330 (and maybe a little further). The market is Monday, Dec. 2 from 2 to 7 p.m. in The University of Akron's Jean Hower Taber Student Union at 303 Carroll Street, Akron.

ZipsGuide.com and UA's Campus Programs have joined forces to produce this shop-local showcase where students, the community, and locally-based small businesses can come together one for big, awesome shopportunity.

As part of the ZipsGuide project, which allows students to collaborate directly with Downtown Akron Partnership as a hands-on learning experience with community impact, the market's mission is twofold:

ZipsGuide.com is a team comprised of students from the Fall 2024 PR Writing and PR Strategic Campaigns courses at The University of Akron, Akron Community Internship Program interns and editor, professor Julie Cajigas. The student team is the driving force behind the event, gaining hands-on experience by conducting research, planning and implementing a communication campaign, and collaborating with others on event planning and logistics.

Vendors and hands-on crafts are still being added to the market. The ZipsGuide.com student team would like to encourage fellow student makers to apply to vend at the event.

Please check back for updates, a complete vendor list and more info as it becomes available.
