Gift Keerie Layne Creative

Originally from Massachusetts, just 45 minutes north of Boston, Keerie Layne found her way to Ohio, where she ran an IT department for a school district for almost ten years. 

Layne loved working in IT and the opportunity it gave her to help people succeed, but she knew her passion was in something else. 

While stuck in the house during the pandemic, Layne began to create the decor for her own wedding. She ended up having an unexpected amount of time to work on and test different art styles that she wanted. 

By the end, she had designed her own wedding sign, seating chart, table numbers and a variety of wedding decor. With the extra free time she had in lockdown, Layne was able to perfect her decorations, which paid off.  Guests at her wedding offered her many compliments on her decorations. 

They also had requests.

“People started asking if I would make stuff for them,” Layne said. “It just kind of blew up from there.”

That’s how lockdown led to a full-time creative venture for Layne.

One thing she loves about the new gig is that whether its cups, sweaters, or canvases with custom designs, her job is now different every day. 

Many of Layne’s items including serving trays, phone cases ,and jewelry featuring press floral designs. She also loves animals and uses pet faces on her work. And yes, she can and will put your actual pet’s face onto items. 

For your mom, Layne has a Mama sweater, beach tote bag, a custom-made cup with a design she would love, or a charcuterie board.

“My favorite thing about doing event planning is [that] even when people are stressed, they are so happy,” Layne said.
