Sometimes a gift can change your life. That was the case for Cuyahoga Falls resident Morgan O’Connor, whose mother bought her a hand stamping jewelry kit just before the start of the pandemic. 

“I thought it was cool,” O’Connor said. “Maybe I will try this out.” 

She started off making tags for her three dogs and then started experimenting with other projects. From that one gift, Sage Designs Co. was born. 

Now the owner of her own small business, O’Connor creates a variety of unique handmade items including dog tags, iced coffee glasses, hot cocoa mugs, themed apparel, necklaces, koozies, and ornaments (to name a few). 

Sometimes for a gift to be life-changing, all it has to be is something thoughtful . 

O’Connor offers two separate ways of purchasing from Sage Design Co., in person at the Northside Marketplace or online at her Etsy shop (she can bring online orders to Northside to help local customers save on shipping - just note that you're local in the comments to the seller).

Products by Sage Designs Co. are offered at an affordable price point so that anyone would be able to buy them. Any product that is featured in the online Etsy store or in Northside Marketplace is under $30.

Since making the leap to full-time business owner, O’Connor strives to be a one stop shop for the best shopping experience.

Being a small business owner can be exhausting at times. O’Connor admitted that being a stay-at-home mom and small business owner sometimes brings long hours that never seem to end.

When she is checking off her holiday list, she doesn't want to be running around to so many stores looking for a bunch of different things. That is why she makes an effort to have a variety of gifts for different types of people.

O’Connor continues to make steps towards a bigger audience of customers as she adds new and creative items into her shop.

As a business owner, she takes pride in her special holiday releases because the holidays bring both excitement and increased traffic to her business.

 “The holidays are my favorite time of the year because I can get more creative with my products," she said.
