Located in the heart of Downtown Akron sits a highly award-winning brewery, Akronym Brewing. Known for its tasty craft beers and to-go orders, it is a solid option for people looking to gift someone something tasty.
“It is nice to have such a good brewery close to home," University of Akron senior Colt Hemphill said. “It is always nice to bring family or friends from out of town there during the holidays and share a drink while you catch up."
Hemphill first chose Akronym Brewing because it was another brewery option in downtown Akron, but then realized the quality of not only the drinks, but also the food.
“Now that I have been, I go for the wide variety of drink options and the tasty nachos too, Hemphill said.
Recent University of Akron graduate, Blake Lucius has a similar opinion of the brewery.
“I choose Akronym for a night out because of their wide variety of drink options," he said. They offer a flight of beer at a great value, not limiting anyone to just one kind of beer."
Lucius finds that the brewery's atmosphere makes it a great place to unwind with friends over a few drinks.

If family and friends are not able to make it to Akronym Brewing this holiday season, there are plenty of options for gifts from the award-winning Akron business that could bring the brand into someone’s home.
“The merchandise and the ability to purchase gift cards creates a great gift opportunity for family and friends,” said Lucius.
Akronym Brewing provides a wide variety of branded beer glasses, steins, branded stickers, and many gift card options.
Anyone who enjoys beer would certainly enjoy some of Akronym Brewing's award-winning brews. The most recent award was a gold medal in the 2022 National Honey Beer Competition. Their Spicer St. herb, spiced beer took home the crown.
Other award-winning beer options include MAC European Pale, Henry Hazy Pale, Sleight of Hand Stout, and Cold Truth Imperial IPA to name a few. While these are the most recognized options, there are plenty more high-quality beers available.
